Product Cleaning & Care

How to Void Your Warranty (what not to do - all products)

DO NOT:

Use Lysol® or any disinfectants containing glutaraldehydes or iodophors. These will RUIN the paint and lenses on your products.

DO NOT:

Use alcohol or bleach to clean your product. Again, these will RUIN the paint and lenses on your product.

DO NOT:

Use products in any autoclave or chemiclave machines.

DO NOT:

Run under water or submerge in any liquid or ultrasonic cleaner.
LED Headlight Packages
*** Make sure no moisture or liquid gets into the ports on the HL360® LED Headlight or battery. This will damage your products.

To clean:

Apply mild soap and water with a soft optical lens cloth. Wipe or air dry.

A Microfiber Cleaning Cloth is provided with your Loupes order and can also be purchased through our Online Store.

Clean Regularly

Using canned air to blow off your products will help with the cleaning process. Tooth dust and other debris can negatively effect the performance of your LumaDent products.

Don't leave your battery plugged in

*** DO NOT LEAVE THE BATTERY PLUGGED IN AT ALL WHEN IT IS FULLY CHARGED ***

This WILL damage your battery and you WILL experience issues with your product including diminished capacity.

This rule applies to all Lithium-based batteries, including your cell phone.

Power Off & Store

When you're done using your LumaDent product(s), be sure to turn the power off and store them when not in use. This will keep them safer and cleaner than just leaving them out wherever and therefore extend their life.

Loupes

To clean:

Apply mild soap and water with a soft optical lens cloth. Wipe or air dry.

A Microfiber Cleaning Cloth is provided with your Loupes order and can also be purchased through our Online Store.

Clean Regularly

Use canned air to blow off your Loupes before cleaning - this will make the cleaning process easier. Tooth dust and other debris can negatively effect the performance of your LumaDent products.

Store when not in use

When you're done using your LumaDent Loupes, be sure to store them. This will keep them safer and cleaner than just leaving them out wherever and therefore extend their life.

LumaShield
LumaShield Front Shields are disposable or reusable. Wipe with CaviWipes or submerge in cavicide, rinse and let dry to re-use. Mild soap and water also works.

The Top Shield is thicker than the Front Shields and designed to be cleaned and re-used. The same cleaning procedure is used as above with the Front Shields.

We do not recommend cleaning and re-using the Foam Spacers - they attach to the LumaShield with adhesive and getting them wet will ruin their ability to stick to the LumaShield.
LumaVAC

*** Always power off and unplug before cleaning or maintenance.

Filter maintenance

The washable pre-filter can be washed with simple soap and water and re-used. DO NOT use a dishwasher or wash machine. Make sure it is dry before using again

The other filters CANNOT be cleaned and re-used, they must be replaced. You can find these filters HERE (link coming soon).

Replace your filters:
  • Washable pre-filter: wash/replace every 10-14 days or as needed
  • Water/Vapor filter: replace every 1-3 months
  • H13 HEPA filter: replace every 6-9 months
  • Unit maintenance

    DO NOT USE:
  • Alcohol or bleach
  • Lysol® or any disinfectants containing glutaraldehydes or iodophors.

  • We recommend using CaviWipes to clean the unit itself. You can also wipe it down with a cloth using mild soap and water.
    ThermoScreen
Wipe clean with a dry Microfiber Cleaning Cloth.

We recommend not using any liquids, sprays or applying any moisture to the ThermoScreen. If you need to clean tougher smudges or stains off the ThermoScreen, do not spray or submerge the unit itself. Lightly moisten a Microfiber Cleaning Cloth with a gentle, electronics-approved cleaning solution and clean with that.

Do not use any harsh cleaning chemicals, they will damage the unit. Use the same precautions and procedures you would use to clean a smart phone or tablet.
